Volunteer at our tree nursery and help prepare for the planting season!

June is the official start of our planting season, and we need your help!

We are planting 1.3 million tree seedlings, and there is much to do! A lot of maintenance and preparation goes into transporting and planting this many trees. At this Earth Day event, you'll be volunteering right at the Vivero Forestal Tree Nursery and helping with this crucial preparation.

Learn more about the different projects we have waiting for you!

Volunteer Activities:

  1. All 1.3 million seedlings need regular care. As a volunteer, you can assist with that care. Tree care will include watering and culling of weeds and upkeep of the surrounding area.
  2. We make our own organic and sustainable compost. You will learn just how we do this and have the option to help create more!
  3. The nursery can support up to 3 million tree seedlings, which means regular care of the facility is crucial. During the event, you can help nursery staff with special projects such as painting, river cleanup, brush cleanup, and more!
  4. You'll help plant seeds, too! All volunteers will learn how to clean, fertilize and plant the seeds that turn into the trees we plant.
Lunch is on us, but please let us know if you have any food allergies. We'll also be providing water, but be sure to bring a reusable water bottle. We recommend wearing clothes that you don't mind getting dirty and closed-toed shoes are a must.

IMPORTANT COVID RELATED INFORMATION:

While the event is outside, we recommend bringing a facemask if you are experiencing COVID-like symptoms. You are asked to stay home if you feel ill the day of the event or have been exposed to the virus within the last five days of the event.

This event is open to anyone. If traveling from outside of the area, please let us know if you will need sleeping accommodations. These can be provided with a fee. Space is limited.

We are excited to bring you this event, sponsored by One Tree Planted, as part of Earth Month. One Tree Planted wants to make it simple for anyone to help the environment by planting trees because together we can restore forests, create habitat for biodiversity, and make a positive social impact around the world!
